FESTIVAL A – Z

ACCOMMODATIONToowoomba has thousands of motel beds available or you can camp in Queen’s Park which is located right next to the CBD; however, if you leave it to the last minute to book your accommodation you may miss out.

ARTISTS – Artists will be performing in Café’s, Restaurants and other businesses all over Toowoomba CBD during the Easter weekend.

ART EXHIBITIONS - The Rangeville Art Exhibition will be held at the Old Church of Christ Building on Margaret St.

CHURCH SERVICES – Some Toowoomba churches host Easterfest artists over the festival. Church artist information will be included as part of the Easterfest City program.

CAMPING AT EASTERFEST – You need a camping pass to get into the Queen’s Park campground. Ticketing information here.

CAR PARKING – There is plenty of public parking in Toowoomba’s CBD. Please consider local residents and do not park in the residential streets surrounding Queen’s Park as we want to be back next year!

DISABLED FACILITIES AND ACCESS – The festival itself doesn’t have designated disabled parking; however there are plenty of disabled parks in the CBD parking areas around the event. All venues are wheelchair accessible. In Queen’s Park the toilets near the front entrance are wheelchair accessible. The shower and toilet facilities in the campground are all located on top of semi-trailer trucks with staircase entry only. There will be a designated disabled drop off zone on Margaret Street near the Queen’s Park amphitheatre.

EASTERFEST – The 3 day music festival held in Queen’s Park which will be running alongside and in conjunction with Easterfest City. More info here.

FOOD – Food is available throughout Toowoomba’s CBD and there will also be plenty of food available for purchase at Easterfest in Queen’s Park.

FREE/TICKETED VENUES – Most of Easterfest City is free except for some separately ticketed events (ill not be covered by an Easterfest ticket). You will need a 3-day or single day pass to experience Easterfest in Queen’s Park. This includes access to all entertianment, kids areas, food outlets, exhibition areas and superstore. HERITAGE FILM FESTIVAL – The Heritage Film Festival is a faith based movie festival which will be held over all three days of the Easter weekend at the Strand Cinema in Margaret street.

INFORMATION – Located in the Entry Pavilion at Queen’s Park.

SHOPPING – Grand Central Shopping Centre is just 5 minutes walk down Margaret Street from Queen’s Park. Open Thursday night and Saturday only.

TIMES – Easterfest City events will run between 9am and 5pm on every festival day after which you can go and enjoy the Easterfest festivities.

WEATHER – Autumn in Toowoomba is great – with warm days and crisp cool nights. Come prepared for all weather – bring your jumper, scarf and umbrella just in case! Even if it rains Easterfest and Easterfest City will still go ahead – you can’t stop the music!

WHO ORGANIZES EASTERFEST CITY? Easterfest and Easterfest City are community based, charitable organizations that are supported by Toowoomba City Council, the Toowoomba Police Service and Toowoomba Christian Churches – and now even Toowoomba businesses are getting involved.

 

CAMPING A-Z

ANIMALS - No animals allowed in the camping area.

ARMBANDS - Your armband must be worn at all times. In the interest of security, visitors without camping armbands are not allowed into the camping area. Please arrange to meet non-campers in the main festival area.

BIKES & SCOOTERS - No pushbikes or scooters permitted in the camp ground.

CAMPING AREAS - Family camping and youth camping areas are available. Noise must be kept to an absolute minimum in the family camping area (10pm curfew) while the youth camping area noise curfew will be 1am so please choose your area carefully.

COOKING - Gas BBQs and cookers will be supplied in the camp kitchens. You are not able to bring your own BBQ, gas or butane equipment. Easterfest will confiscate these items if found in the camp ground. This is a regulation from Toowoomba Regional Council - but don’t worry, we provide lots of free BBQs and gas rings in the cooking area for your use between 5.30am and 12.30am. Hot water and wash up sinks are also available in the cooking areas.

DEPARTURE - Campers will be able to get their vehicles in to the campground to DEPART on Sunday from 4pm to 11.30pm, and Monday from 6am (dependant on weather conditions). See wet weather condition for exceptions to this.

FENCE - Jumping of any fence at Easterfest will result in removal of your armband & expulsion from the camp ground.

FIRST AID - If you require medical assistance during the day you should see our first aid team located near front entry to the festival ground. Overnight you should see the uniformed security guard at the top gate of the campground for assistance.

GAS EQUIPMENT – No gas equipment of any kind allowed in the camp ground.

GATE OPEN TIMES – Gates open for camping arrivals on Thursday 1 April @ 12noon. Gates will be CLOSED for arrivals from 12midnight Thursday to 6am Friday.

MIXED GENDER TENTING - No mixed gender tenting please (unless you are married or family!)

PARENTS - Parents can help their children set up tents ONLY if they have a camping pass themselves. As a security measure only attendees with camping passes (including parents) are allowed in the campground.

PARKING - Please respect the local population of Toowoomba - be considerate by not parking in the residential streets surrounding Queen's Park.

PHONE CHARGING - You will be able to check you phone in to be recharged at the general store for a minimal charge. You will need to bring your own charger.

POWER - No power available in the camp ground.

SECURITY - There will always be security guards patrolling the camp ground during Easterfest. In addition, police will patrol the area during the evenings. Do not leave valuables in your tent. Our security staff are provided for the safety of campers, not property protection.

SHOWERS - Hot showers are located at the lower entry to camp ground from Easterfest and at the top of the camp ground (near Lindsay Street). If the showers need cleaning or if there is a problem with the showers please contact a festival representative or security.

SMOKING – Smoking is not permitted in the camp ground.

TENTS ONLY - No campervans, camper trailers, motor homes, trailers or caravans in the camp ground - tents only. Please be prepared to carry your equipment up to 100m. See wet weather condition for exceptions to this. .

TOILETS - Toilets are located at the lower entry to the camp ground from Easterfest & at the top of the campground (near Lindsay Street). Easterfest has full-time cleaners, if the toilets need cleaning or if there is a problem with the toilets please contact a festival representative or security.

VEHICLE ACCESS - Vehicles will be located in a separate parking area, not near your tent - so be prepared to park your vehicle up to 10 minutes walk away. You will be able to drop off your equipment at a 5min loading zone within 100m of your camping site (dependant on weather conditions). You will be provided with a car pass for your vehicle. Car passes are not transferable & must be displayed clearly on the dash at all times with car registration & contact mobile phone details filled in (so we can call you if you block someone in!). See wet weather condition for exceptions to this. .

WET WEATHER – In the event of extremely bad weather cars may be unable to enter the campsite for setup and/or packdown.
